.

The dataset contains approximately one million events recorded during ²²⁸Th calibration campaigns near the end of EXO-200 Phase-II operations in early 2018. For every event it provides the raw waveforms from the U-wire, V-wire, and avalanche photodiode readout channels, together with reconstructed quantities such as charge energy, light energy, and charge-cluster information.

The data are distributed in HDF5 format and are intended to support data preservation, teaching, and the development of modern machine-learning techniques for rare-event physics.

Both have since been published.

The data acquisition system.
(JINST 21, P09017) presents the DAQ that will read out the experiment’s 2720 SiPM-based channels. The system digitizes waveforms continuously, without a hardware trigger, and processes them online to reduce the data volume for long-term storage. A full “Quadrant” — one quarter of the final system — has been assembled and validated at TRIUMF.

The veto photosensors.
(Eur. Phys. J. C 86, 1089) describes the completed production and testing of the “vTiles”, arrays of 24 SiPMs that instrument the Inner Veto. Each tile was tested at room and cryogenic temperature; the final production yield exceeded 87%, above the 80% requirement, providing the 1920 tiles needed for 120 veto photodetector units plus spares.

Both have since been published.

Low-mass dark matter in liquid argon.
(Phys. Rev. D 113, 123045) combines new measurements from the ReD setup with calibration data from DarkSide-50 and results from the ARIS and SCENE experiments to better constrain how liquid argon responds to nuclear recoils at keV energies. Applying the updated model to DarkSide-50 data yields stronger exclusion limits on low-mass WIMP interactions, and the paper recasts the sensitivity projections for DarkSide-20k.

Double beta decay of ¹³⁴Xe.
(Phys. Rev. Lett. 136, 232502) reports no significant signal and sets a world-leading lower limit of 8.7 × 10²³ years (90% C.L.) on the half-life of the neutrinoless mode, along with a threefold improvement over the EXO-200 Phase I constraint on the two-neutrino mode.

DarkSide-20k SiPM tile production paper released

A new DarkSide-20k paper,
, describes how the photosensors for the experiment’s 21 m² SiPM array are built and tested.

The SiPMs are arranged into modular photosensors called Tiles, each integrating 24 SiPMs on a printed circuit board that provides signal amplification and power distribution; 16 Tiles form a Photo-Detector Unit. Production and quality control take place at Nuova Officina Assergi (NOA), an ISO-6 clean room at LNGS, and include wafer-level cryogenic characterization, die attaching, wire bonding, and electrical and optical validation of every Tile. The overall production yield exceeds 83.5%, meeting the requirements of the DarkSide-20k production plan.
